Of course, as always, know thyself.  If all you ever saved on your cell phone is your Aunt Myra's phone number, I guess it's ok.  But do we even remember what we once stored on an old phone?  I certainly don't, and with our obsession these days of saving electronic data on every piece of equipment known to man (and woman), I would be surprised if some people didn't have some personal information on their recycables that they'd rather not have passed around.  

Perhaps the Heart and Stroke Foundation would accept other items instead?
